Repubblica: Inter write to Council seeking clarity over project with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter have written to the Council to seek clarity on whether the project with AC Milan to build a new stadium remains standing, a report claims.

Today’s edition of La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com) reports that Inter wrote a letter to the Municipality of Milan after the closure of the public debate and the Nerazzurri want to know if it is possible (and in what way) to continue working on the original project given that Milan have not officially given it up.

Inter are waiting for an answer as soon as possible and – as publicly disclosed by CEO Alessandro Antonello – are already evaluating alternative sites. Steven Zhang has asked for information on the land owned by the Cabassi family between Assago and Rozzano in recent days.

Two days ago the Mayor of Milan – Beppe Sala – spoke after a meeting with Milan owner Gerry Cardinale at Palazzo Marino.

“Milan have confirmed their willingness to proceed in the La Maura area. We have an open and formal discussion on the stadium near San Siro, but it is clear that if they don’t intend to do so, they must let me know. The Rossoneri must present their project within two weeks,” he said.

          1. “gift them the stadium” What? Dude, if Milan and Inter build the stadium together they will each take 50% of the total loan. Which gift?

          2. @Jesus Which gift? Having a World Class stadium, means they will be able to make, more money from stadium.. Given their financial situation; they don’t have money to build their own stadium.. If Arsenal and Tottenham, can have their own stadium, why can’t we? If you have, followed Champions League Quarter Finals draw, you would know, what I mean!
