Intermediary claims Milan ‘did everything’ to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star

By Oliver Fisher -

Intermediary Cheikh Fall has revealed that AC Milan did everything they could to sign Randal Kolo Muani but he chose the Bundesliga instead.

Milan were heavily linked with a move for Kolo Muani ahead of the last summer transfer window as his contract with Nantes was expiring meaning that he was available on a free transfer, but in the end he chose Eintracht Frankfurt.

Cheikh Fall, a market intermediary who among his latest operations has that of intermediary in the negotiation that brought Thauvin to Udinese, spoke to TMW and revealed some background on Kolo Muani.

“Milan were there, they tried. But the boy wanted to go to Germany. He wanted to try the German league because of the spaces due to his characteristics. Milan, however, did everything,” he said.

Now, the Frenchman has 19 goal contributions in 19 Bundesliga games this season so it is safe to say the move worked out for everyone involved, and he is being linked with a big money move to the Premier League already.

    1. Naah, there’s people who blame Maldini even for the fact that Christmas comes only once a year so in their minds this is also still his fault.

I know the article is about RKM but it also spoke about Thauvin, a player we tried to sign when he was at Marseille but he rejected us to move to the Mexican league.
My guess is you skimmed through the article. 🙃

  1. “Milan were there, they tried. But the boy wanted to go to Germany”

This should silence (at least for a few articles) the FIFA and Football Manager commenters who think you can just go out and sign or sell anyone. Sometimes people just don’t want sign, re-sign or come to our club and has nothing to do with the directors.

  2. I’m sure the salary we were limited in offering him vs the salary Frankfurt offered him played a factor in the decision. But a player is free to chose who he wants to play for. Looks like he made a sound decision for himself. On to the next

  3. A smart man once said
    “You get, what you tolerate”.
You tolerate the incompetence of the sporting director, you get poorly constructed squad.
And there are still people to rush to defend Maldini’s failure to convince a player to sign for Milan instead of with Frankfurt. The job of a SD is to convince, persuade, sell on a player that best foe his career is to sign for Milan. He FAILED.
I can think of few things why.
First because he came in with a lowball offer, something he is known for, unless when he signs useless players like Florenzi, Bakayoko. He had no issues shelling out 3 mil a season for Florenzi, but he was lowballing Bennacer for almost a year.
The other is probably playing time. Kid’s agent probably asked for playing time but Maldini couldn’t give him that because we have this young 36 and 41 year Olds as primary strikers and Kolo Muani would be the 3rd choice.
Of course the kid will choose Frankfurt over Milan.

    1. The article clearly said that it’s the player personal preference. Nothing to do with salary offer etc. Do you have the slightest real life experience? When it’s normal to see employees move to other companies not solely because the salary or other kind of external motivations offered. Same thing goes in football.

  4. He need playing time. In frankfurt he can easily starter, while in AC Milan he is 3rd choice below giroud & ibra. It is not really about salary frankfurt vs AC Milan, he aiming starter because know big money from EPL will coming if he starter & score many goal while if he choose AC Milan he only get small salary 2-3m euro
