Sole 24 Ore: Investcorp expected to complete €1.1bn Milan takeover by Friday

By Oliver Fisher -

Unless there are surprises, Investcorp will conclude the purchase of AC Milan from current owners Elliott Management in the coming days, a report claims.

According to the latest news from il Sole 24 Ore, Investcorp and Elliott could put the first signatures down on documents signifying the transfer of ownership this coming Friday 29 April in what will be a deal worth €1.1bn.

Negotiations are continuing and the parties are protected by absolute secrecy, but it seems that several obstacles have now been overcome and that only some unexpected obstacles could prevent the signing being done.

Elliott Management took control of the club back in 2018 after Yonghong Li’s ownership ended when he defaulted on the repayment of a loan. The American fund have improved the health of the accounts and the on-field results have also trended upwards, but now the time seems to be right for them to sell on for a profit and for a new fund to take the reins.

  1. I hope we keep propelling further forward with their take over. I hope we would remain organised and goal-oriented like we’ve been for sometime now. I hope they keep Milan at the top for more years than Berlusconi’s era! And lastly, I hope they keep the Very Active management that we already have and provided them with more adequate resources needed to be successful for years years years!!!❤️🖤 Forza Milan!❤️🖤

  2. Hope they maintain this sort of strategy on both sporting and marketing level. Maldini, Massara and Moncada are doing a wonderful job considering the money they have at their disposal and they are the reference point of this new Milan. Imagine what they could do with bigger budget. Also, new stadium asap is a must for this club to become selfsufficient and generate real income.

  3. Sad times. There’s been more sporting integrity in Milan’s last few years than the decades prior, I hope that isn’t thrown out of the window to be a nice handbag for a Middle Eastern state.
