TMW: Investcorp could be short-term Milan owners as idea of quick sale emerges – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

It cannot be excluded that Investcorp acquire AC Milan from Elliott Management and sell them on quickly to another owner, a report claims.

TMW confirm that the €1.1bn negotiation between Investcorp and Milan is proceeding as planned with the Bahrain fund undergoing the due diligence process meaning the closing of the operation could come in a short time.

However, Investcorp may not be the long-term future owner of Milan because there is an important Arab family behind them. The fund’s role could therefore not be as a buyer but effectively as an ‘advisor’ to hand over the club for a sale.

The potentially medium-long term role of Investcorp at the helm of Milan seemed certain but now other hypotheses have emerged. Before it was presumed that there would be a splitting of the expenditure between its many investors and fund financiers, but now it seems an Arab fund could take over the reins.
