Inzaghi: “I hope some Milan primavera players will join”

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi held a press conference yesterday after his appointment as new Venezia coach.

“I started my playing career from the old ‘Serie C’ (today’s Lega Pro) and I still know this league very well. Tacopina [the club’s president] was impressed by my knowledge of Italy’s third division.

“Having good players won’t be enough, everyone will fight to beat us and Parma because, theoretically, we are the favourite clubs for the promotion.

“I have not joined Venezia to go to Serie A on my own next year. I want to arrive to Serie A with Venezia.

“I am ambitious, not presumptuous. My favourite system is 4-3-3, but I am not a crazy manager, I can adapt players to my favourite formation.

“I want to improve the potential of youth players and I hope some AC Milan Primavera team players will join Venezia on loan.”

“I can only say thanks to AC Milan, firstly Galliani and Berlusconi. What happened last year has not ruined our relationship. I will support AC Milan forever.

“However, I believe we should follow the example of Juventus, they are the best club in Italy right now, just like AC Milan used to be back in the days.”
