Filippo Inzaghi has admitted that he is looking forward to facing AC Milan next season, a club that he holds very close to his heart.
It was party time for Pisa yesterday, as they were promoted back to Serie A after 34 years away, finishing second in Serie B. Nicholas Bonfanti’s winner in a 1-0 away defeat to Bari did not matter, with the Tuscan club securing a spot as runners-up behind Sassuolo.
It has been a remarkable journey for Pisa since declaring bankruptcy in the early 1990s. The last time they were in the top flight in Italy was back in 1990-91 under Ukrainian boss Mircea Lucescu, and now a three-decade wait has come to an end.
Inzaghi spoke live on Sky during the celebrations that were taking place in Pisa and – in addition to speaking about the season, the emotions and facing his brother Simone – he was also asked about Milan.
“Look, I had a lot to think about. When I arrived here, I hoped to achieve a similar feat. I only hope that Milan will soon return to the glories of the past,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Milan fans are special and Milan deserves to be a protagonist in the league and in the Champions League as it was in our years. I hope for this. Then I don’t like to talk from the outside, because you have to be inside to know things.”
Pippo has achieved three promotions now, I think. Maybe he deserves another shot on our bench, having taken the position way too soon the firs time.
On another note, Lucescu is Romanian, not Ukrainian.
Spot On. In Pippo Mio lnzaghi I believe ❤️

He need to prove himself in Seria A at least 2 season first.
if our goals is just to stay in serie A & become talent factory just like Atalanta/ Parma, then Pippo is perfect
