Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has given an update on the fitness of some of his players ahead of the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan on Wednesday night.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport on Sunday (via Milan News), the Nerazzurri coach was asked about which players will be able to make their returns from injury in Saudi Arabia.
A handful of prominent players have been struggling with injuries and for at least two of them, Inzaghi thinks that the game is coming too soon.
“I think Handanovic and Brozovic won’t be able to recover,” Inzaghi said.
Another injured player is Romelu Lukaku who has missed almost the entirety of the season with a number of issues. He seems to have a better chance of getting minutes in Riyadh.
“We evaluate Lukaku day by day, he has this inflammation that prevents him from working at his best,” Inzaghi explained.
The Supercoppa is the first chance for both of these teams to secure some silverware and given how the league campaign is going, it could be a trophyless season for at least one of them.
Even if Inter had as many (key) players missing they’d still win 5-0.
Why don’t you go to sempreinter and post your love for that sh**club there instead of predending to be a Milanista… I am getting ill of people like you…
LOL. I’m more MIlanista than you’ll ever be but I’m not delusional about the current form of the team.
Did you even watch Salernitana, Torino & Lecce matches? You think Milan has suddenly transformed into a winning team during their flight to Saudi-Arabia?
