Italian newspapers heap praise on Sportiello after reflex save against Verona

By Isak Möller -

Marco Sportiello was one of the key players for AC Milan in their 1-0 win against Hellas Verona, making a cracking save in the first half. Today’s newspapers only had good things to say about the goalkeeper.

Due to the muscle injury of Mike Maignan, Sportiello was forced to step in yesterday afternoon and he did really well. In addition to being very calm on the ball, he made a great reflex save on Michael Folorunsho in the 20th minute (see video below).

Gazzetta Dello Sport (6.5/10), Tuttosport (7) and Corriere Dello Sport (7) all named him the MOTM and praised him for the positive display. Milan can certainly feel safe with him between the sticks, as evidenced also against Newcastle.
