Vincenzo Italiano could leave Bologna in the summer, and AC Milan are one of three teams that may open the door to him.
With the season now approaching its final stretch, Bologna are faced with the mission to come back against Aston Villa to try to reach the Europa League semi-finals, while in an equally unlikely pursuit of sixth place in Serie A.

Calciomercato.com write that Italiano’s future will become a hot topic this summer. After leading Bologna to their first trophy in 51 years (the Coppa Italia, beating Milan in the final) and keeping them in the top half, the coach is ‘ready to test himself at an even more prestigious club’.
Where next?
Italiano has long been admired by top Italian clubs. Among them are Milan, who explored the opportunity about a year ago before turning to Massimiliano Allegri. CEO Giorgio Furlani in particular is attracted by his ability to develop young, promising players through an attacking style of play.
These qualities are appreciated by the current Rossoneri management and fit well with the RedBird strategic direction. Much will depend on whether Allegri remains in charge, given he seems to be a candidate to replace Gennaro Gattuso as the national team coach.
For the same reasons, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is monitoring Italiano’s situation with Bologna, given the uncertainties surrounding Antonio Conte and the Azzurri role. ADL has asked for clarity and rapid response, so he can start planning for 2026-27 with or without Conte.
Finally, keep an eye on Roma’s future moves. Claudio Ranieri’s outburst before the match against Pisa – which targeted current coach Gian Piero Gasperini – suggest big changes could come. If Gasperini leaves, the Friedkin family could turn to Italiano.

The speed with which these speculations are put out for public consumption is beyond me. I suppose that’s how media houses stay afloat. Say it like it is…no fact checking, pure assumptions.🤦
Please God say it isn’t so.
Because losing to Aston Villa after dominating is so impressive and will surely win anything here
Simone Inzaghi is the best option to replace Allegri if he leaves for the Italian National Team. Milan not the club to develop young players. This is not Atalanta or Bologna.
Milan is a club that needs to win trophies in Italy and Europe.
Inzaghi tactics are better than Gasperini, Conte, italiano and Allegri. He’s better at 352 formation and unless we decide to sell Pavlovic, Gabbia, and De Winter then Milan should continue to play with a back 3 formation.
Simone Inzaghi at Inter had by far the best squad in Serie A for all 4 years he was there and won only 1 scudetto.
I agree. Given Inter’s roster, Limone had underperformed with that team.
Remember, simone was use conte players when he still at inter dugout and they together for long time. Now in arab his club was dominating by mancini club. No thanks bro…
Good option.
Italiano’s next step should be Roma or Lazio or Napoli.
