Tuttosport: ‘One Word: Italianize’ – Milan find clarity in new project

There are several things to be settled this summer, but it seems AC Milan have their plan set in stone: they will return to an Italian base.

This is arguably the biggest summer in recent Milan history simply because so much could go right or wrong. If done right, it could be the period that marks the start of a new era, back towards the old days. However, faults would not offer the same kindness; in fact, it would be a much worse situation than now.

So, clarity must be present with every decision, and the first one has been cemented even further today.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via Milan Press), the club have ‘one word’ in mind and that is Italianize. The Rossoneri will return to their roots, and there are two big names that must be sorted out.

With the sporting director, Giorgio Furlani is still attempting to make a move for Tony D’Amico, if not him, then Igli Tare will arrive, which only brings the decision into question, as we have recently written about.

Then, there is the coaching decision to make, at present, five are in the mix: Massimiliano Allegri, Vincenzo Italiano, Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti and Gian Piero Gasperini.

To partner this, an Italian market will open, with Samuele Ricci, Diego Coppola, Pietro Comuzo, Lorenzo Lucca, Riccardo Orsolini, Federico Chiesa and Elia Caprile being considered.

  1. First, american id1ots expelled almost all italians including the bigest legend of milan maldini, and the bigest italian prospect of milan and future leader and legend tonali, they killed italian identity in milan, now they trying to bring back italians ,they figured out how $tupid they were,i hope they also figured out how they know nothing about “soccer”

  2. Sudah saatnya MILAN DI REVOLUSI. BAIK DARI SI AMERIKA,ELLIOT,FURLANI DAN DIREKSINYA MESTI DI GANTI SECARA TOTAL. PERCUMA KALAU MASIH ADA MEREKA,MAU PELATIH SEKELAS APAPUN. MILAN TIDAK AKAN JUARA,KECUALI KEAJAIBAN.

  3. With Italian you mean low-quality and average players who are chosen just because of their nationality. If you want Italian quality, get Tonali back and invest in those rare quality, expensive Italian players.

  4. Italian players are not up the scratch compared to Nesta or Gattuso. The majority of Italian players just aren’t good enough.

Focus on quality regardless of nationality.

    1. Really?
Tell me if Americans national team can beat Italian team
Italy have player all u people want is over price players like leoa that walk around the pitch waiting for counter attack
The best thing Milan will do is to swap leoa with feran Torres and femin Lopez plus cash 30m and use it to sign nuno travrez ,then cheisa ,lucca, osorini ,sotile ,
Playing sotile out from comfort zone is the last thing a coach should do
Leao needs to come as a sub
Not all matches should he start since he is not consistent

  5. Unfortunately there aren’t that many good Italian players to bring in. Let’s be honest. Amd I am not saying what we have are any better – so I get it – rather have an average Italian than an average foreigner.

BUT – News flash – Tonali isn’t coming back. We aren’t paying 70M to get him back not will he cut his 9M salary in half for us. Wake up.

Ricci – we will prob get outbid by EPL clubs unless he demands to stay on Italy. Then we have a chance – maybe. But remember we still have a transfer cap gents.

Chiesa? For what an expensive backup for 30M?? He’s past it with all those injuries and him riding the bench for past few years.

Orsolini? Cheaper backup? He’s solid BUT has never been tested at a bg[giver club so it’s a question mark. But I’d rather have him that Sottil.

The young Italian defender is fine (Comuzzo) but what is Lucca going to do? Again another backup? Third striker?

I really don’t care what nationality they are so long as they can play and they help us to win TITLES. Ya it would be nice to have more Italians but there aren’t many available at OUR price point that will move the needle much.

The only Italians I want is either named Conte or Ancelotti. Period.

  6. mediocre Italians blabla, don’t have experience in bigger clubs blabla and when some Italians shines you guys talk about too pricey blabla..

problem is, you guys just don’t believe in Italian talent. Italians, IMO is never good enough in terms of individual quality,, but they’re work well as a team players.

  7. Italian boys re not like b4 go n get standard player elsewhere,if tonali can come back in future wil welcome him.
