CM: Italy return considered for Liverpool winger – the conditions Milan would need

Federico Chiesa’s new adventure with Liverpool has not really taken off yet, and a report has suggested that AC Milan could look at bringing him back to Italy.

Calciomercato.com report that Italy boss Luciano Spalletti has not taken Chiesa into consideration since he left Serie A. Officially he is still injured, but the timeline for his return is still undefined, all while he struggles to settle into his new surroundings.

Liverpool invested €12m plus €3m in bonuses to sign him from Juventus in the summer and they gave him a contract expiring in June 2028. Chiesa does not want the 2026 World Cup to slip away, and that is why a move could be evaluated as early as the January window.

There are currently three teams who stand out as potential destinations. The first two are Milan and Roma, who could use Chiesa as an extra attacking weapon in the 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 systems that they use. The third is, Inter who have had the most contact since he left Juve and have long been admirers.

The Italian trio remain in the background for now and are waiting for an obvious turning point: that Chiesa returns to being fit and eligible to play. However, there is a strong economic condition too: it must be some kind of loan formula, with an option to buy.

The salary of €7.5m net per season would seem a lot more accessible if it were only an investment for five or six months, then if a permanent deal were to be negotiated his salary would obviously change.

  1. What’s with these articles that say that Chiesa will leave Liverpool and come to Milan, or Zirkzee will leave ManU and come to Milan? They are just click-bait rumors.

Besides, currently I don’t see the point of hiring either one. That ship has sailed. What we need is help for the defense, not for the offense. We scored 20 goals so far this season. The problem is that we also conceded 14 goals. We’d be winning consistently with better defense; there isn’t really any need to try to score more goals; we’re already doing that. But when you score 3 goals you should win. You shouldn’t be conceding three identical goals that same game, of a kind that we’ve conceded 9 times this season already: the opponent’s left winger is poorly marked by our RB sector, crosses the ball to the second post, and our LB sector leaves an opponent completely unmarked, who then scores at will.

What would hiring Chiesa or Zirkzee do to fix that???

We need another RB, another LB, and another CB. We don’t need a RW or a ST.

    1. One cannot get on the field and the other fails to impress when on it.

In both cases it feels like we dodged a bullet. Expensive bullets in fact.

    2. I could not agree with you more. RB and CAM are my big ones. Pulisic is doing well at CAM but he’s much better in a winger role. Emerson and Calabria are just not cutting it. I feel that Musah would do better at RB than either of those. Also we need Gabbia healthy. I want to see him and Thiaw together

    3. I’d always take Chiesa because he’s a proven winner who helped deliver one of my happiest nights.

And you can never have too many attacking options (particularly when your other two are the fairly uninspiring Okafor and Chuk).

Leao, Pulisic and Chiesa on rotation could be a lot of fun. And we need more fun in life.

      1. “I’d always take Chiesa because he’s a proven winner who helped deliver one of my happiest nights.”

You do love living in the past, don’t you? Why not hire Sheva as the new number 9 too? One of the best strikers of all time and a proven champion too. Chiesa? He’s been in decline ever since the Euros. He WAS a champion but his current status is more of a “mediocre backup for Chukwueze”. And an expensive one I might add.

  2. I just found a brilliant player that have an expiring contract with Ajax. His name is Devyne Rensch. He can be our transfer target because he can play as right-back,left-back and CB.He is a young player with the solid defensive, elegance and flair.

  3. I will like Acmilan to replace carmarda with Lorenzo Colombo, Colombo is Good and he know how to mods let’s send carmarda to primevera although he will improve with time then will bring me to first team

    1. Whoa. You have somehow missed the extensive news articles, game reports, and streaming for something called Milan Futuro. LOL, send Camarda to Primavera???
