Jacobs: West Ham interest ‘genuine’ as Milan await potential Tomori offer

By Isak Möller -

West Ham are keeping tabs on the situation of Fikayo Tomori, according to a report, and could perhaps decide to submit an official offer to AC Milan. The Englishman, however, is an important player for the Rossoneri.

Arriving on an initial loan deal from Chelsea in 2021, Tomori has since become a key player for Milan and although he struggled last season, he remains an important player. Indeed, the Rossoneri see him as an undisputed starter for the upcoming season.

According to the reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, following whispers in England, West Ham are indeed keeping tabs on the centre-back as their interest is ‘genuine’. There are no negotiations for now, though, and it remains to be seen if the Hammers will proceed.

Malick Thiaw, another Milan centre-back, has also been linked with a Premier League move as Newcastle are interested. However, the German has a more feasible price tag than Tomori, who is valued at €40-50m by the Rossoneri.

For now, therefore, the feeling is absolutely that Tomori will remain at Milan beyond this summer, even if an offer from West Ham cannot be ruled out. While on the subject of centre-backs, the Rossoneri are closing in on the signing of Strahinja Pavlovic.

  1. What a silly rumor. Tomori to leave champions league football and a club fighting for silverware to join a midtable EPL team before he hits his prime.

    1. As much a si would love him to stay with Milan, I think playing in the EPL might help me gain national team football

        1. He has 0 chance to play for England day in and day out if he plays in Italy, no matter who the new coach is.

  2. Tomori is English and playing close to home for lots more money can be tempting.
I think it’s more a question for Milan then to tomori if Milan wants to keep him as a starter or to bring a new main defender for our shaky defense

    1. You know west ham doesn’t pay ridiculous salaries right? Their highest paid player is paqueta with 5M net. That’s €. Tomori atm plays for 3.5M net. He would get a raise if he moves there but not by ‘lots more’.

And Milan will definitely ask more than 40-50M for him. 60-70M is more like it

    2. 50-60 millions and it’s yours. We can take for example,Lucumi from Bologna and replace Tomori very well. Tomori don’t seems to me an ireplaceble player. He’s average, not a top.

    3. No. It made no sense. For what, he can join England National team? England will never win any title. If he join West Ham, it took at least 50 million to get him there. If he play with PL mid table team and failed, no one will look for him. Assuming he tempted with high salary, any big team would be discouraged by his salary, he will stuck there.
With Milan he already get the starting spot, it’s just Southgate being idiot not calling him. And he is an expat, wouldn’t necessarily call England as his home.

  3. The idea is to add to CB’s, not trade one for another… Neither Tomori nor Thiaw looked particularly impressive in the friendly…
