It seems that AC Milan are ready to give up on Noah Okafor as they would listen to offers for him next month, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com confirm that lower back pain will force Okafor to miss the Champions League match against Red Star tonight. It is an injury that comes at a bad moment for the Swiss winger, because he needs to find some form and cannot do so on the sidelines.
About four months have passed since Milan 2-2 Torino in the first game of the season, when Okafor scored what is to date his only goal this season. He has been trusted with starts in big games like at Lazio and against Napoli, but has not been able to reciprocate Fonseca’s faith.
Most recently he got the nod from minute one against Slovan Bratislava and he came off after 45 minutes, which ‘seems to have marked a breaking point’. From that moment on, he has completely disappeared from the Portuguese coach’s radar.
Having arrived at Milan in the summer of 2023 from Red Bull Salzburg, Okafor had been making the most of his chances by scoring a number of important goals off the bench. Now, though, he is no longer doing that.
Instead, the 24-year-old can now be considered a player that is ‘absolutely transferable’ in the eyes of the Milan directors even as early as the January window, if an interesting offer were to arrive.
Nice ideas
A very talented player who has speed, fast thinking in the penalty area, has a lot of motivation and driven.
He doesn’t get much time and he could be crucial if Leao doesn’t play.
i don’t think we should hurry to sell
I completely agree, it would be a mistake to sell him.
He is one of our players who has real talent, when there are many others who don’t.
He should be a long way down the list of who to sell, behind the likes of…
Emerson
Terraciano
RLC
Musah
Chucky
etc
And since we’re already counting the days until Fonseca is sacked we should definitely wait and see what the next coach could get out of him. Another CDK case? 🙂
Injury prone. He can’t be relied on.
Didn’t you say that about Kalulu and Thiaw in summer?
Everyone is injury prone. Everyone can get hurt.
If this is true , then critical analysis has to be done about the management, he has not gotten adequate playing time, he is still young and will definitely peak, he has the build, intelligence, speed and technical skil, all he needs is adequate playing time, buying and selling after one season is a sign of instability, which is not good for the club..
Loan him out with a deal that works for Milan. Not any of these silly loans we do. He just needs minutes.
i see him similar to Chuk, almost same characteristics. both talented, both show their skills rarely, making us wait for their breakthrough which might never come. i’d like to see a new winger asap to replace one of them (Chuk currently a bit better, but Okafor can play both wings and ST)
