Before the Scudetto season, Sandro Tonali offered a few glimpses of being a star before taking off for AC Milan; now Ardon Jashari could follow that.
It felt like an eternity for Milan to sign Jashari in the summer, and the effort to sign the Swiss was monumental. At several points, it seemed like a deal was dead, and then it wasn’t, and then it was again.
Finally, though, the Rossoneri managed to get their man, but his season has certainly been a bit turbulent.
Jashari’s reminder
Within the first few weeks of his arrival, he was injured in training, and he missed half of the season. Since then, he has fought to get back into the side, but even when he returned, things weren’t simple. Indeed, by that point, Massimiliano Allegri had his core defined, and Luka Modric was flying.
Now, that might change, with reports suggesting that the Swiss will play alongside the Croatian, rather than instead of him, taking the place of Youssouf Fofana.

For MilanNews, his story so far is reminiscent of Tonali’s, a player who arrived with promise after the high asking price from his former club, and he struggled to hit the levels hoped for from the off. As we know, that quickly changed; he just needed a bit of time.
So, in this first season, whilst Jashari has shown glimpses, being too quick to judge may be a mistake. After all, the sparks are there, just look at his assist for Leao last week.

When they sell him in 2 years time they can make comparisons with the new Jashari….
Don’t provoke Tonali haters on this blog.
So sell Tonali for 60m (one of the best midfielders in EPL)
Buy RLC, Musah, Tiji for 60m
Sell Tiji for 60m
Buy Jashari and Ricci for 60m
Have we improved the team or made a profit? NO
Tonali now worth 100m
What a waste of time, energy, talent and most of all supporters enthusiasm
Tonali is worth 100 m?
Who is offering 100 m for Tonali?
He’s been valued at 75M€ in transfermarkt, 62M€ in playmakerstats and around 55-65M€ in footballtransfers.
And I’ve heard rumors that Newcastle won’t sell him for less than 70-90M€.
None of the numbers you listed say 100 n. As a matter fact, they say numbers very close to what Newcastle paid for him than a 100 m. Also, the rumor is that he is coming back to Serie A and Juventus this upcoming summer and neither Juventus nor any other Italian club will pay anywhere near 100 m for him.
With the market for EPL established midfielders at an all time high, 100 million is an understatement for Tonali. Transfermarkt does not reflect actual going prices.
Apparently Man Utd offered 100m
Declan Rice cost more than that and Tonali is regarded by many as the best in the league in his position
Wait, and Pulisic and Chuck. The last year Tonali was there they finished 5th. Only a point deduction from Juve got them into the CL. The next year they finished 2nd. That said, I really like Tonali as he is a complete midfielder. Tonali is not worth 100 ml just like Pulisic is not worth 70 ml.
Why the selective memory? He won the Scudetto and a League Cup at Newcastle. In his final season at Milan, we reached a CL semi-final, we were back on the European stage, and we were discussed on international sports shows. Yes we finished 5th in Serie A (19 points from 1st place) but we still qualified for the CL in a season where we lost Kessie, Romagnoli, and Ibra (to injury) and were only given 50 million to invest. Since then, we have invested between 200-300 million (I lost count), been eliminated in the CL group stage two seasons in a row, no more international media coverage, and finished 2nd (19 points from 1st place) and 8th in Serie A. I hope Milan learn from the past and make better decisions moving forward. This season has been an improvement with quick-fixes. Let’s hope there a good long-term strategy follows.
Not selective, just noting the last year he was there. The year they finished second, Inter was on fire. You seem to have missed my point in saying how great a midfielder he is. Also, ACM would not have had him the year they finished second due to the gambling ban. Where would they have finished that year? I agree that ACM invests poorly. But they will get 30 ml for Chuck, they got 40 ml for Reinjdeers, and I suspect they’ll get 50 ml for Pulisic. So, that’s 120 ml. Will they use it wisely? I doubt it. ACM seems to keep looking backwards and not forward.
40 for reijnders? No mate that is not true stop lying.
1. Our discussion has nothing to do with the article haha. I like Jashari and hope he does well.
2. My frustration comes from a narrative that I have seen too often. In your two posts you fail to mention that we won a Scudetto and reached a CL semi-final on a limited budget because we had a long-term footballing plan. You fail to mention that since then, we couldn’t get past the group stage and eventually couldn’t even qualify. You say Inter were on fire when they won the Scudetto. Weren’t Napoli on fire when they won with Osimhen and Kvara? Fifth or second, we finished 19 points away both times. With Tonali’s ban, let’s say we didn’t finish second, let’s say we finished eighth. We already did that after spending 200-300 million.
You’re right, it was 55 ml. That makes my case even stronger for how they had turn the sale of Reinjdeers and other players into 135 ml. The question is what will they do with the money. Probably waste it as usual.
Yes, Inter was on fire 23/24. They had 14 more points then Napoli did in 24/25 when they won it. Inter lost out that year because Inghanzi got greedy, trying to win everything and ran his team into the ground.
A slow news day?
Next on the selling block is Pulisic. Not Jashari.
*Not yet Jashari
