This afternoon, Ardon Jashari has not travelled with his Club Brugge teammates to England, whilst he waits to move to AC Milan.
It seems like things are heading in one direction now for Jashari and Milan, as the midfielder has agreed with Club Brugge that he will not travel to Glasgow or London with the rest of the squad today, per reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Furthermore, he will train individually whilst he waits for his move to the Rossoneri to be completed after their ‘final bid’ was submitted last night.
This has also been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, who states that the midfielder is not part of the squad travelling to the UK, as he only wants the move to Milano. In a few days, the club will be told the verdict after their latest bid.
For what it is worth, it is normally only in the final stages where a player will not be part of squad-wise plans. So, it bodes well for the Diavolo, indeed.
Final bid
With Club Brugge seeking a figure near €40 million, the latest bid from Milan should be close enough to seal a deal, with Igli Tare working tirelessly to secure his second signing of the summer so far. The club have offered a package just shy of the asking price.
Nevertheless, with this latest news, it could be enough to see things through.
Where will this guy play tho? He is a deep laying playmaker not very defensive tho, but so is Ricci. Not sure abouth both of them in the pivot role since i would prefer at least one solid defensive mid in there who could tackle. Fofana also plays there. Or maybe Fofana/Ricci would be played like Mezzalas in 4-3-3 and him in some Pirlo role in the back? That sounds Alegri like but also a bit outdated.
He may not be a bang on starter every game and that’s OK. Part of being a top tier team means having class players on your bench too. Hopefully he and Ricci won’t be relied upon to carry the team in their first season and can play a bit more freely with Modric Fofana and RLC getting minutes.
He is a defensive beast. Tirelessly chasing and not giving up. You can sense he gets his high when he takes the ball. Very complete midfield by the looks of it.
Defensive beast? He’s bottom 6 percentile in tackling and interceptions. His other stats don’t look good either
It was mentioned in one of the articles here today that Max is planning to use Ricci as a mezzala. Let’s see if its true. My guess is that Jashari and Modric will be our playmakers with Fofana as a DM.
Three man midfield, based on Jashari, Ricci and Fofana, with Modric and RLC rotating through it when available and fit, makes a lot of sense for me.
Probably Modric’s job will be to work with the youngsters on the pitch to get them ready for their roles full time. I am a little disappointed the Xhaka interest came to nothing though, I think he’d have added a lot of needed leadership in the middle.
Ricci and jashari are defensive midfielders, Fofana is more for a mix. If you notice in the past 3-4 years the club went after players who have a mix of everything in their tool chest. Fofana is one of them and so is Tonali, Bennacer and Kessie. There is a difference now, Ricci and Jashari play for the most part in their own half, dude to the modern game they can move forward and play an offensive game but for the most part they are defensive minded midfielders.
I would say to be less worried about the defensive side of the midfield if the club wraps up Jashari. The focus should be getting rid of what are the excess at Milan and in return get new full backs and another winger who can moonlight as a CAM.
THE goal should be to off load a lot of these players who are not performing.
“Ricci and jashari are defensive midfielders,”
Looks up stats….Ricci is bottom 6 percentile in tackling and interceptions, meaning 94 percent of mids in Europe’s big 5 leagues are better than him in this aspect. As for Jashari, he’s bottom 12 percent in Europe in tackling and interceptions. Where do you guys get this from that they’re defensive mids? Even the eyes test for Ricci shows he’s more a mezzala if anything
433 : modric/rlc, jashari/ricci, fofana/bondo. Thats their planning with javi guerra the 7th midfield ( only coming if yunus musah out). 7 midfield battling for 3 spot starter. Jashari will play as deep lying playmaker like pirlo
Ricci is good to catch the ball jashari is ball boy and modric is creative fofana loftus cheek and mussah are back ups
Then again I ask, where will creativity come from.odric won start every game. Fofana won’t score. Unless Mercarto for midfielders ain’t over
