Last summer, AC Milan invested €34 million into a young defensive midfielder from the Belgian league. Since then, little has been seen from Ardon Jashari, but that can change.
This has not really been Jashari’s season on the face of it. However, when you look at the actual events of the year, it was never going to be. Luka Modric’s arrival meant that playing time was always going to be limited and a three-month injury did not help his chances either.
Despite that, the Swiss man has never kicked up a fuss. Instead, he has waited patiently for game time and when it has arrived, he has been pretty decent. Now, he needs to be more with Modric unavailable.
Jashari handed the keys
As Tuttosport writes, Jashari’s chance has arrived due to unfortunate circumstances. However, he has been handed the keys to the midfield with Allegri’s trust and he is ready to drive the team towards a strong finish.
After paying €34m for him, the club haven’t yet seen his best and with a string of games, he may be able to show a portion of what made the Rossoneri invest heavily.
Indeed, he has the support of both Allegri and the club, as was proven during today’s press conference. He will also feel support from Modric, who will be at Milanello regularly to give his student (and his other teammates) tips.
Indeed, it is Jashari’s time now and he is ready to take control.
Even when he has been fit, Allegri has not shown confidence in Jashari as a starter. This will be a good opportunity for him to rise.
Savio I would agree with you, considering phycological impact I am actually beyond aurprised Jashari has performed the way he did for those little minutes he got.
We all know Allegri, this is why I never liked him, and one can argue Jashari should have been pkayed more as a sub to releive Modric when we were winning, but Allegri dies not take chances and when he does we lose home 3-0 as he simply does not know how to.
I would say Ricci got way more time and did not show it, but I hope Jashari will be able to show that he is the one for the future cinsidering Modric’s age.

He got 8 months to adapt to Italy and train with his teammates, which is a luxury in modern football. Time to show he’s worth the money…
If modric didn’t get injured, nobody would remember we had a 34mill asset rotting on the bench because the coach is looking for individual brilliance to cover up his flawed tactics.
I just hope however the game goes, the media doesn’t rip him apart or try to compare with modric.
