Ardon Jashari failed to live up to the expectations in the 2025-26 season, but the midfielder believes his first campaign was a great learning experience.
The negotiations between Milan and Club Brugge took a long time, to say the least, but the parties eventually reached an agreement at around €37m. Sadly, it didn’t take long before Jashari suffered a serious injury, sidelining him for about two months.

The high expectations that came with the price tag and the long negotiations, as such, were not lived up to as the midfielder struggled to break into the starting eleven. That said, Jashari himself sees his first season with Milan as a great lesson.
Speaking to Corriere del Ticino, as transcribed by MilanNews, Jashari shared his thoughts on what it’s like to play in Serie A, what he learned during his first season, and what he hopes to do in the upcoming campaign.
On his first season…
“It wasn’t easy. I arrived in August and shortly after that, I had a fibula problem that kept me out for a long time. When you return from such a long period on the sidelines, you need time to regain top physical condition and match rhythm.
“In the final part of the season, when I had more time, I think I even played some good games. I’m convinced that my true value will be seen when I’m able to play more regularly.
“The more minutes you get in your legs, the more confidence you grow and the easier it becomes to find understanding with your teammates and the system.”
On Serie A…
“Serie A is very different from the leagues I had played in before. It’s a very tactical league, always with well-organised defences and minimal space.
“For this reason, the game is sometimes slower and finding the right moves up front is never easy. It’s a league that forces you to think quickly and improve in many aspects.”
On the experience…
“It was important to feel the trust of Allegri and the staff during the most difficult months. Furthermore, training every day alongside a champion like Modric was a great learning experience. You watch how he moves, how he interprets situations, how he behaves on and off the pitch.
“These are details that help you grow. I’ve always liked players like him, Rodri, Pirlo, Iniesta: they have extraordinary class, but above all, they always think about the team. They are players who make everyone around them play better,” he stated.
The only winner in the Milan disaster. Modric out, good or bad Milan, Jashari should get minutes and consistency.
His time will come both with AC and CH, providing we are smart to keep him, which I am hearing is the case.
