Reports: Jimenez ‘getting closer’ to Milan exit as Como seek loan to buy deal

This morning, Como contacted AC Milan regarding a move for Alex Jimenez. Now, those talks have seemingly advanced.

There has been occasional interest in Jimenez this summer, with Napoli really posing the biggest threat. However, they walked away when they realised a permanent deal was not possible. This appears to no longer be the case, though.

Jimenez to go?

Earlier today, Matteo Moretto reported that contact had been made, with things now looking a lot further down the line.

As MilanNews write, contact is ongoing between the parties, and there is an aim to clarify the deal as it currently is. Right now, Cesc Fabregas’ side are looking for a loan deal with the option to buy.

This is also reported by Nicolo Schira, who states that the Spaniard is ‘getting closer’ to Como, importantly, with the buy option included in the loan. Already, he has given his approval to the exit, so talks continue.

Things could be made interesting with Real Madrid’s involvement, considering they have a buy-back clause for the Spaniard, so they are also involved in the talks.

Massimiliano Allegri opted to bring the defender on during Cremonese for the second half, so it will be interesting whether another defender is sought.

  1. Very confusing mercato. Just when you think the coach wants someone we sell, and then those he doesn’t use like Musah we keep?

  2. There were reports he was late for training multiple times. So not a real professional and playing him sets a bad precedent for others. But I wouldn’t give him without obligation to buy and 20+5M in bonuses fee.

  3. A swap between Como and Milan of 2 Real Madrid owned players.
Jimenez to Como, Nico Paz to Milan. The midfielder that Milan needs.
Back to reality, keep Jimenez. He might be a hot head but he can play.

  4. Who cares if he was late, the season has started lol. Being late for practice maybe at the beginning of the Summer is one thing but the season has started. We’re going to be playing with just our youth team if this continues. Pulisic, Leao, Modric, and then a team of 16 year olds lol. The entire core of this team has been ripped out and we’re left with beat up players with no confidence. But please, spend 27 million on a dude who scores 10 goals a season…which btw is half of the guaranteed money they got for Tiji…so a guy who scored more goals in two seasons in SERIE A for a guy who scored 11 and then like 9 in a smaller league and smaller team…great…can’t wait. How long until the trolling on all social media starts up again with “Paolo Maldini” every where? I say two more weeks.

  5. Makes no sense when we know for certain we won’t bring in a replacement in time. We dont even have the striker position settled, and CB is still paper thin. Getting rid of both him and Terra in the same window with no replacing is awful planning

  6. This little guy is adding some threats in attacking.

Are these management watching the same matches we fan watch at all ?

No management in his right sense will sell or loan Jimenez out. These team already lack depth in attack especially on wings after the sales of Okafor

    1. saw a 20 year old come in and run around with his hair on fire, have an emotional tantrum, get a yellow for dissent and treat his productive teammate Pulisic like a b**ch. while Cremonese is laughing, That’s not how you come from behind and win. or be a pro. or make a better team.

  7. I like this kid playing on the wing, alternating with Leao. He showed cojones and can play the ball. But Okafor already left, Chuk is reportedly sought by Fulham and if Jimenez also leaves, we’re left with what? Leao, Pulišić and Saele? While also missing a CB, ST and potentially another CM if Musah leaves. I don’t even know what system can be played with this half a*s squad.

  8. This just doesn’t make sense. If Allegri is playing 3-5-2, Jimenez would be vital to that formation as a wingback . Salemaekers & Estupinan with the new kid Athekame can’t be wingbacks all season.
Apart from that , he should start with Saele on the other side in the next game after Estupinan latest start .
With one week left of the transfer market I’m starting to wonder what’s going on.

  9. With the striker we are getting more to 352, the you have estupinan and bartesaghi on one side and salad with athekame on other, you do not need replace

    1. Bartesaghi is no LWB, we’ve all seen it. Kid’s being wasted there. He should play as LCB, alternating with Pavlović or eventually as a LB in 4 backline system.

      1. For sure, he is too heavy for a wingback. I’m unsure why no Milan coach has tried playing him in the LCB position ? He seems to be built for that role as you said…. even though he needs to improve in the defensive duels, he would evolve as a CB.

    2. Samuels , unless u have an injury and the player is out for a long time…. U will have to wear out a player or play someone out of position 🫡

  10. Come on! A good prospect! Starting to gain experience! This kid is fearless for his age and is a wildcard! He can be extremely useful coming off the bench in certain games or starting a few.

He will do well with Cesc and Paz and crew, and where will that leave us?

  11. Sale sale sale! haha

Milan is a store. Sale numbers is more important than sporting results.
Sounds great to me lol 😀

  12. Would like to see Tomori and Pavo leave and Comuzzo and Akanji (who can also play RB) come in. Chiesa on loan and sell Chuk, Sergie Milenkovic-Savic in for Loftus Cheek. I’m warming up to idea of Vlahovic despite past failures of taking Juves sloppy seconds (Higuain, Bonucci) but prefer a different striker maybe Mitrovic, Icardi, Sorloth.

  13. Not even replaced Okafor yet, Jimenez could cover LW at a push. Ah well, just take all the pace out the team so Allegri can build his dream of an 11 full of box to box midfielders

  14. I don’t understand why we would release another full back this summer.

Maybe the player is pushing for the deal.
It’s hard to say that Como are not an equivalent environment at this point.
Probably with a better training atmosphere.
