Journalist admits he ‘would not be surprised’ to see Ibrahimovic at Milan next season

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti has suggested that we should not be surprised to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic play for AC Milan beyond the 2020-21 season.

The Swede showed that he can still very much be decisive on the biggest stages as he scored a match-winning brace for the Rossoneri during Saturday’s 2-1 Derby della Madonnina victory over Inter.

Monday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive) reported that ‘absolute confirmations’ have arrived that Ibrahimovic wants to extend his deal by another year until at least June 2022.

The paper adds that agent Mino Raiola has already been pre-alerted regarding Ibrahimovic’s desire to keep playing and to do so with the Rossoneri shirt. He apparently already has a half-agreement with Milan that will see Ibra end his career at the club.

Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, well-known journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about what the future might hold for the striker.

“He played a match of extraordinary intensity, without losing an aerial duel,” he said.

“He no longer surprises us, and we would not be surprised to see him at Milan again next season to take them to the Champions League.”
