Journalist claims Milan are ready to offer midfielder €5m per year – meeting with agent imminent

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to submit an improved contract offer to Franck Kessie in order to try and get him to renew, according to one journalist.

After losing both Donnarumma and Calhanoglu on free transfers, Milan do not want to lose another pillar of the team in Kessie when his deal runs out. The Ivorian’s contract expires in 2022 and the Rossoneri management are immediately at work to ensure that the former Atalanta star will not leave at no cost.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter, a meeting with Kessié’s agent is scheduled for next week. The player asks for a salary of €6m net per season to renew, while the Diavolo’s offer is €5m plus bonuses. The distance is not unbridgeable therefore, and the club’s intention is obviously to close the matter as soon as possible.

It could well be that the next meeting is decisive, as face to face talks serve well in examining the true intentions of both parties.
