Journalist claims Milan have held talks with two targets who have expressed desire to join

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may have their pick of two defensive targets as both have expressed a desire to join the club in January, it is claimed.

Milan’s priority in January is to buy a new centre-back given that injuries have vastly depleted Stefano Pioli’s options while Léo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio are not considered part of the plans.

While it seems that Mohamed Simakan is the number one target as per what a number of sources are reporting, there are also persistent links with Ozan Kabak of Schalke, a player who the Rossoneri pursued in the summer.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur on Twitter, Milan have spoken to both Simakan and Kabak, and both players have communicated to their Milan management that they want to play for the club.

All the remains to be seen now is which player Paolo Maldini and co. pursue more aggressively and which club they can strike a deal with.
