AC Milan will resume their Serie A season on Monday against Lecce but besides the end of the ongoing season, the focus of the Rossoneri is also set for the next campaign and the hunt for reinforcements for the team of the likely new manager Ralf Rangnick.
One of the potential reinforcements is Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai, whom the club has been following for some time now.
According to the latest news from journalist Alessandro Jacobone of Sportitalia, the Rossoneri are in pole position in the race for the Hungarian starlet, as there are excellent relations between Rangnick and the entourage of the player.
However, Milan will have to step on the accelerator, because there are also other teams interested in the midfielder. Lazio’s sporting director is pressing on club owner Lotito to finance a move, but he wants to sell Sergej Milinković-Savić first before financing any incoming transfers.
Jacobone also provided the latest on Milan’s pursuit of Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic, which he labelled as ‘almost analogous’ to that of Szoboszlai. He highlighted that the first contacts with Jovic’s agent Ramadani and Milan date back to December.
Milan is thus, according to his words, at the forefront for the Serbian attacker, but his agent continues to work. With regards to the interest of Arsenal, Jacobone added that there have been ‘only chats’.
