Journalist claims Milan want to triple Leao’s salary and include release clause in new contract

Rafael Leao is having an incredible start to the season as he has found consistency and quality for AC Milan.

The Portuguese talent has shown that he has matured and given his young age, he still has considerable room for improvement, which is definitely a positive for Milan.

And in this context, the management is preparing a new contract for the striker, as reported by Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida on Twitter.

According to his words, Milan are ready to make an important offer to Leao, with the intention being to propose a contract until June 2026 and triple his salary.

Moreover, the club also seems to have the intention to include a release clause higher than 200 million euros.

Leao’ current contract is set to expire in June 2024, with the current salary of the Portuguese striker set at 1.4 million euros net per season. Tripling this amount would thus guarantee Leao 4.2 million euros per year. An offer that would definitely be difficult to refuse.

  1. Yes finally e are being proactive. First with Salesmakers. Now hopefully with Leao, Theo and Bennacer- and if he continues like this – Tonali will be due for a raise as well, perhaps Tomori too. Must reward those who outperform there current contracts to fend off big clubs from poaching our players. And yes to a release clause – finally! Why Italian clubs never included them in the past is odd. Due like all the Spanish clubs do – place a 300M release clause in these contacts so we are protected and have room to negotiate if a player really wants to leave
