Milan are looking for a new No.10 as Hakan Calhanoglu is destined to leave the club when his contract expires later this month. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was mentioned as one of the options but he has now renewed with Roma.
The Giallorossi announced the news with a post on their Twitter page, stating that the Armenian will remain at the club until 2022. This past season, he registered 13 goals as well as 11 assists and was one of the best players in Serie A.
Therefore, Milan were linking with him as a potential replacement for Calhanoglu. However, the reliable journalist Daniele Longo has stated that Mkhitaryan ‘was never an option’ for the Rossoneri, who are looking at other players.

It remains to be seen who they will end up with, but everything will depend on Calhanoglu and his response to the renewal offer. A signing seems to be on the cards for Paolo Maldini, though.
