West Ham United are considering hijack Premier League rivals Aston Villa in their move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, it is claimed.
Villa have been heavily linked with a move for the Pole over the last 48 hours, and La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira reported on Tuesday night that they have placed a €28million bid to try and sign Piatek.
He also added that they have offered the ex-Genoa star a four-and-a-half year deal (until 2024) for €3m-a-year, therefore a total potential salary of €13.5m. Gianluca Di Marzio meanwhile reported that the bid is closer to €30m.
However, according to Radio Rossonera journalist Pietro Balzano Prota, Villa are not the only English side interested in the idea of signing Piatek.
The striker – who has netted just once from open play so far this season – is attracting the attention of West Ham United, who are ‘seriously considering’ making an offer of their own to help fix their goalscoring problems.
