Journalist expects a ‘skirmish’ with Raiola for Milan over Donnarumma’s renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Journalist Stefano Agresti believes Milan face a difficult situation regarding the renewal of star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Milan are expected to start negotiations soon because Donnarumma has expressed a willingness to renew and his current contract expires in less than 10 months.

According to Calciomercato.com, there has already been some contact between the club and his agent Mino Raiola but the real negotiation has yet to start. Technical director Paolo Maldini is aiming for an extension until June 2025, and there is the willingness to raise his salary from €6m net per season to €8m plus bonuses.

Maldini hopes to be able to conclude the negotiations for the 21-year-old quickly, and Elliott Management Corporation have given their support to get the deal done.

Speaking to the microphones of Radio Sportiva, Stefano Agresti spoke about the situation regarding the renewal of Donnarumma at Milan.

“Donnarumma one of the strongest goalkeepers in the world, there are skirmishes with Raiola, the renewal will not be easy but it is fundamental for Milan because it makes the difference,” he said (via MilanNews).
