Gigio Donnarumma’s contract with Milan will expire at the end of the season, and he’s yet to reach an agreement with the club for a new one. Or better put, Mino Raiola isn’t satisfied with the hefty offer on the table.
In general, the Dutch-Italian is notoriously known for being hard to deal with and he more or less always gets his will through. That is apart from Donnarumma’s renewal back in 2017, when the youngster took the decision without his agent in the end.
Italian journalist Franco Ordine, in today’s edition of Il Giornale (via MilanNews), spoke about the issue that is Raiola and the effects it has on the clubs. He accused the 53-year-old of ‘exploiting’ Juve while also making Milan look bad without grounds.
“The agent [Raiola] exploits Juve, who are without money like all the teams. Instead of rushing to renewal with Milan, Raiola trudges and visits Juve to create the hypothesis of a negotiation that isn’t confirmed by accredited sources or by the club’s ranks,” he stated.
Although the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been more or less painful, the feeling is that Raiola will continue to demand high wages for his clients (also Alessio Romagnoli). This goes against Milan’s strategy, which includes a wage cap.
