Journalist claims Milan are admirers of €30m-rated Palmeiras midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have cast their gaze towards the South American market and they have been left impressed by Richard Rios, according to one journalist.

According to the columnist Diego Firmino, Milan have set their sights on Richard Rios of Palmeiras, as well as Roma and Fiorentina and a club from the Premier League, who remain unnamed at the moment.

However, the Brazilian club are asking for €30m to let him go, because in reality they would like to try and keep him and he is under contract for another two years so there is no immediate pressure to sell at present.

Standing 1.85m tall, the Colombian is a midfielder with good physical strength and who brings dynamism to the middle of the pitch. He is also good technically and can unleash shots from distance.

Both at Palmeiras and with Colombia he plays in a two-man midfield, so he would have no problem integrating into Paulo Fonseca’s 4-2-3-1 at Milan or even into a 4-3-3, as one of the players either side of the No.6.

With Palmeiras he has so far racked up 82 games, five goals and two assists. In October 2023 his debut with Colombia came, and for his national team he has 12 appearances, two goals and an assist so far. His last goal for thems was scored in the Copa America quarter-finals against Panama.

  1. Admirers…yeah that’s means a lot…😆😆
I’m curious who will take this boy because Milan is not capable of such a thing, an impotent club.

  2. LOL. Milan admires someone? Give it a couple of months and Milan might start their waiting game. Then they’ll contact the player and ask the salary request and wait. Then they’ll wait a bit more and ask the player to haggle for them. And wait. Until the player has signed for a midtable EPL team and mercato is over. Rinse and repeat. 🙂

    1. bb is there someone Moncada has named yet that he wants to be buy.

The only thing wrong is that he hasn’t bought anyone in this window.
Time is tick for you Moncada, and Maldini was sacked for failure. So says Cardinale, but Maldini won the fans and was credible.
Monacada still has to show he can play with the big boys!
      Good Luck Ibra!

      1. Maldini was fired because he refused to sell players which limited the amount of revenue which then impacts how much they can pay players in salary. His strategy to lose 300M in 5 years while Inter made money in the market over that time is not sustainable, they will always be able to sign players by giving them more money. It’s more about selling than just buying…

  3. I personally not see anything special bout him after watching 2 to3 clips on YouTube…. zeroli is far much better than him.
