Journalist Pellegatti tips Milan to sack Giampaolo and hire Max Allegri

By Oliver Fisher -

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes that AC Milan could sack Marco Giampaolo before Saturday’s game against Genoa, with Max Allegri tipped to replace him.

The Rossoneri lost their fourth game of the season on Sunday night in just round six of the Serie A season as Fiorentina won 3-1 at San Siro.

It is Milan’s worst start to a campaign in over 80 years, and pressure is growing on Giampaolo with no clear game plan on show yet again.

A number of possible names have been linked with taking over in the media, including Rudi Garcia, Andriy Shevchenko, Gennaro Gattuso, Roberto Donadoni and Claudio Ranieri.

However there have been suggestions that there are two ‘dream’ options for Milan in the form of Max Allegri and Luciano Spalletti, and Pellegatti has backed the former to take over.

“I don’t know if we will continue with this coach,” he told his YouTube channel

“I would not bet that we continue with the coach. From the rumours I have seen he still expects the match against Genoa, but I don’t know if the leadership really has this intention and is realising that we can’t continue like this.

“The management is not so sure to wait until Saturday to change coach. We look forward to any decision.

“The club are probing big names, perhaps immediately or perhaps on Saturday if Milan were to show an insufficient performance, then they would change. If they were to change I will support Massimiliano Allegri.”
