Jovic admits ‘2024 has started great’ for him after his winning goal against Frosinone

AC Milan striker Luka Jovic has admitted that 2024 has started really well for him, with his winning goal against Frosinone being the latest to bring him joy.

The Serbian striker spoke to Milan TV (via Milan News) after the victory and he was understandably thrilled that he found another Rossoneri goal and was able to deliver the three points.

Jovic had been thrown on by Stefano Pioli when Milan were drawing 2-2 with Frosinone, and it would have been a disappointing result given the Rossoneri took the lead after just 15 minutes. Jovic scored almost immediately and made it 3-2 with less than 10 minutes to play.

He now has eight goals and assists in the last nine games, only three of which he has started.

Talking about what the goal means to him, Jovic said: “I’m playing well and I’m happy about it, I always work hard to be ready, I’m especially proud of the victory. 2024 has started off great for me, I want to continue like this, I’m proud of tonight’s victory, we’re strong.”

Milan’s next match comes against Napoli, so it will almost certainly be an even tougher test. Jovic previewed the game by saying: “It will be a difficult match but we are ready to face anyone because we are in a good period and we are a big family.”

Jovic did not start life at Milan very well as he was struggling to take his opportunities off the bench, and the pressure is on given he only has a one-year contract.

His recent form will have given Milan food for thought when it comes to his future at the club.
