AC Milan’s list of targets for the attacking midfielder role has become even shorter as Kerim Alajbegovic looks set to join a rival.
Konstantinos Karetsas was the number one target for Ruben Amorim and Milan this summer, but ultimately the pursuit from Borussia Dortmund was always one step ahead and they closed the deal to sign him in the past 24 hours.

A number of different alternatives have been named, from Can Uzun to Savinho. One name that remained throughout was Alajbegovic, who Zlatan Ibrahimovic had some very complimentary words for during the World Cup.
Now, Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger is reporting the following: “Kerim Alajbegović (18) is set to join Juventus. Total agreement between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Juve for a permanent deal. Juve will pay an initial €33m, with add-ons up to €40m. Just final details remain to be sorted out.”
Fabrizio Romano meanwhile adds: “Juventus are waiting for Kerim Alajbegović final approval after advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen. The agreement club to club is at the final stages for €33m plus add-ons, @berger_pj reports. Juve are still waiting for Alajbegović green light.”
After links with the likes of Milan, Napoli and Chelsea, it seems that the Bosnian talent will continue his career in Turin. Juve have also wrapped up a deal for Randal Kolo Muani today, so it has been a busy one for the Bianconeri.

Can Uzun is way more experienced, better goals and assist numbers and better option and worth that type of money. Not disappointed. This kid is overhyped. I prefer Uzun over alajbegovic.

You can’t always get first choice targets, for many reasons. The purpose of having a scouting team is to have options for what we may need now and in future.
Plenty of options out there; I wonder if Nwaneri is available at all.
Either way, it’s all academic at the moment – we have way too many players and need to move some out before we bring in even more.

People are once again glossing over club finances. We just spent 100M on two players. We have no CL football and we just got out of the UEFA Fair Play settlement. We need to sell right now before there are further large incomings. Leao at 40M and Fofana at 20M is 60M in funds. 20M to Hojberg and that would have left 40M for Karetsas or Alajbegovic, which is precisely their price. The issue here then is the lack of movement on Leao’s sale. Nobody outside of Turkey wants him. Our mercato is stuck in neutral until he is sold. If and when that finally happens, it might be too late to get the talent we were interested in.

I don’t think it’s a huge loss if players like Alajbegovic and Karestsas end up joining other clubs. Big spending on signing talents from outside of Italy, is always a gamble. There’s no guarantee they’ll succeed. We’ve already seen that with players like CDK, Gimenez, and Jashari.
If you’re building a team to compete for titles, you need proven players in the key positions.

Maybe Karetsas was more than just a rumour but others like Alajbegović, Trincao, Hujlmand etc… They were media inventions fabricated out of comments of certain people or past connections to our coach.
This summer is problematic due to the WC and many players who coach wants to evaluate are still not with the team. Could be that they’ll miss a chance to sell some of them like Estupinan due to this.
to solve our AMC problem. just sign brahim Diaz. familiar with the club and league and he is very solid now allround. He might not have space in mous squad. or Guler. proven champions. Ramos, Puli and Diaz or Guler.. thats a formidable attack with quality and experience..

You can still hijack this deal, juve still not getting this wonderkid approval. But the problem is no fund from selling player, bennacer 0 euro, leao, fofana, rlc, bondo, yunus musah still not get buyer and all of them just surplus ( no need replacement). 5 player surplus for minimum price you will get 80m euro
Could’ve signed Karetsas (18) + Alajbegovic (18) instead of ridiculous 74+ million splashing on a PSG bench warmer and kept Camarda + Kostic as two striking options.
This was both LW & RW would’ve been sorted for years and guaranteed profit in the future in case of a sale of either.
It is painful reading rumors for months, just to see they do nothing behind the scenes besides busting our balls.
