Francisco Conceicao and his Juventus will take on AC Milan away from home this evening, and for the winger, it’s an opportunity to avenge his father’s sacking.

Last season, when Milan decided to part ways with Paulo Fonseca, they decided to bring in Sergio Conceicao as the replacement. The 51-year-old immediately won the Supercoppa Italiana and also helped the team reach the Coppa Italia final.

However, due to the eighth-place finish and the loss in the aforementioned final, the Rossoneri waved goodbye at the end of the season. The situation has been turned upside down with Massimiliano Allegri, but today’s offers a very special scenario.

An opportunity for revenge

Indeed, Conceicao’s son Francisco plays for Juventus and will start in the game tonight. He will surely make life difficult for the Milan defence and with a goal, Conceicao Sr would come back to haunt the Rossoneri in a way.

Speaking to Tuttosport, as transcribed by MilanNews, Francisco stated that he was ‘disappointed’ with Milan’s decision to part ways with his dad.

“He deserved more time. In six months, he played in two finals: he won one, and he didn’t deserve to lose the other. In the league, since he arrived, he would have finished fifth.

“The problems my father had are the same as those Milan have had this year. I’m disappointed because if he had started the season, I think it would have gone differently,” he stated.

  1. “Would have finished fifth”…. 😀 sure that would certainly make us happy.
Lets see if Juventus will settle with a fifth place when the season comes to an end.
Besides of that if his father had pulled that stunt of his on me as he did towards Calabria I would have cleared his mouth of teeths.

    1. I think what he was trying to say is that S. Conceicao’s points per game average since he arrived would have achieved 5th place had he been in charge from the beginning. Yes, it’s not good enough, but better than 8th. Still it’s sort of a dumb footballer’s statement, as Allegri with a squad “with the same problems” is on pace for top 4. In any case, I think that if one of the Portuguese coaches deserved more time it was actually Fonseca, who is doing well with Lyon and plays a much nicer brand of football than S. Conceicao.

      1. Absolutely, Foncesa have a style in place and he is winning convincingly afaints big teams Madrid, Inter ETC.

Foncesa lacked only consistency before he was sacked may be he would have sorted the inconsistencies with more time.

      2. Well then I prefer Gatuso at fifth place.
Either way 5th place is like wiping ur arse with hard grained sand paper in my view regardless how its presented so he and his dad can pretty much suck it as I perceive things.
