This summer, it seems AC Milan could add to their defensive unit and David Alaba could be a name of extreme interest. However, they’d not be alone in watching his situation.
With only four central defensive options, Massimiliano Allegri needs a little bit more if he is to continue playing a back four system. Even with a back four system, you’d argue that four players is not really enough. So, in a five, it certainly isn’t.
Milan, thankfully, have avoided an injury crisis at the back. However, they have required makeshift options to step in on occasions and this has further proven the need for defensive reinforcements.
In the summer, then, the Rossoneri must attack and bring in at least one top-quality addition.
Alaba to AC Milan?
One name of potential interest would be David Alaba, who will leave Real Madrid upon the expiration of his contract this summer, as Calciomercato.com relays from Fabrizio Romano. The journalist continued, stating that the Austrian could be on his way to Italy.
“Juventus and Inter are both looking for defensive reinforcements. Given his high profile, a move to AC Milan isn’t out of the question, but these three possible destinations in Italy are unlikely to be far off.”
In Spain, the defender receives a salary of €19 million per season, which isn’t at all feasible in Italy. So, he must be willing to lower his demands. Considering he has appreciators in America and Saudi Arabia, though, he may not be forced to do so…

He is way beyond his Zenith. Not even our NT would really need him anymore.
