AC Milan are giving serious thought to the idea of selling Fikayo Tomori and there is no shortage of interested clubs, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speaks about the key role that Tomori plays in how the defence looks moving forward, and more specifically what his exit might mean for the plans.
The former Chelsea player has lost his starting spot in recent weeks, with Paulo Fonseca now seemingly set on Gabbia-Thiaw as the centre-back pairing. While Tomori has accepted being a back-up ‘without complaints’, but it is clear that ‘he cannot be happy with his current position’.
He was one of the protagonists of the Scudetto win under Stefano Pioli and had even got into the English national team sqyad, before ending up off the radar of coaches Gareth Southgate and Lee Carsley.
In addition, he is not short of options. Napoli have already made an inquiry and Juventus also like Tomori a lot. The Milan directors – perhaps understandably so given the Pierre Kalulu operation – want to sell abroad.
The idea of a return to the Premier League must be monitored, and it is above all Newcastle United who have shown interest, while West Ham United are in the background. The price will be €20-25m, and Tomori will naturally have a say in where he goes.
I would ask for 30 mln and nothing less. If not in the Serie A, he would be sold in the EPL anyway.
Tomori is still a solid player worth 30m even in this kind of form. If Napoli want him give them Tomori + 40m for Osimeh. We lack goals. He would be the statement signing for us.
Otherwise sell to epl club and go for proven CF like Kolo Muani or cheeky bid for Rashford. These two are good opportunistic signings in Jan.
Unfortunately our American owners only want to make money instead strengthening us.
Yes, we need great American owner like Liverpool, Arsenal, Atalanta, and many more but we have a donkey as the lead horse.
25 mill. Part payment for Tonali.
❤️
Selling to Napoli or Juventus is just dumb… Kalulu should have been our lesson
Agreed.
If this was the other way around that club would have been asking us for 40m for him
Sell him to New Castle and do a deal to bring Tonali back home.
Om vi säljer för 25 och köpte för 35 hur resonerar man då?
Sell Tomori to Newcastle and exchange him with Tonali
