Ricardo Kaka has voiced his support for Santiago Gimenez, revealing his belief that he can still return to his best form with AC Milan.
It has been a difficult campaign for Gimenez, who played for the first few weeks through pain in his ankle which then required surgery as a more long-term fix. He returned in recent weeks but has still gone nearly a year without a goal in the league.

This has led to suggestions that the management are running out of patience with the man they paid over €30m to sign from Feyenoord in January 2025, which could in turn lead to a sale before the 2026-27 campaign, especially if another No.9 arrives.
The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner Kaka spoke about Gimenez’s journey at Milan in a press conference on the eve of the match between the Mexico and Brazil Legends which took place at the Stadio Azteca in Mexico City. His words on the striker have been relayed by MilanVibes.
“Gimenez is part of this team, Allegri has faith in him. He’s had some difficulties this season, but he’s an important player. He understands Italian football and Milan. This season has been tough, he understands that, and we hope he can enjoy his best moments in Italy,” he said.
Kaka is someone who knows all about what it takes to adapt to Italian football from a very different league and style, as he arrived from Sao Paulo as a young forward. It must be pointed out that struggles are not unique to Gimenez, as Milan’s entire attacking department has misfired in 2026.

Allegri has faith in Leao Pulisic combination despite the failure
I would argue Allegri has no faith in any of our attackers at this point.
I like Giminez a lot tbh. He works hard for the team. When you have two wing players that score a lot, you don’t need your striker to score 40 goals per season.
I care about winning. I care about building a winning team with winners. That’s the only way we’ll be able to transition out of Allegri ball.
