Kaka brands Milan his ‘favourite club’ and tips current player to have a ‘great future’

AC Milan icon Kaka has tipped Rafael Leao to be a star of the future for the Rossoneri, who he has revealed are his ‘favourite club’.

If there is a player that recognises talent, it is probably Kaká. After joining as a similarly raw and unproven player like Leao was at Lille, the Brazilian helped Milan win the Serie A title in his first season.

Milan finished runners up in the 2004–05 Champions League with Kaká the top assist provider of the tournament and he was crowned UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year, while revenge would come in 2006–07 against Liverpool when he was the tournament’s top goal scorer.

The 2007 Ballon d’Or was the icing on the cake that year, and some have hopes that Leao can push on and establish himself to be a player who is also decisive in big games, and he is in double figures for goals this season.

Kakà spoke to the Portuguese source Record and was asked for his opinions about Leao, who has now broken into the Portuguese national team thanks to his excellent season.

“Milan are my favourite club. I have followed Leao’s growth and evolution. Milan are fighting for the title and he is having a decisive role. Rafael has a great future at Milan and I think he will bring many joys to the Rossoneri fans,” he said (via MilanNews).
