Mediaset: Ex-defender told Milan to sign young winger over summer – they now face strong competition

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were advised to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Rubin Kazan by a former defender over the summer but now face strong competition if they want to land him.

According to a report from Sandro Sabatini, who spoke on Sport Mediaset (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri had an interest in signing Kvaratskhelia over the summer. He was the star of the show in yesterday’s sensational 2-0 win over Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden in the World Cup qualifiers for Qatar 2022.

Sabatini remarked that the 20-year-old was scouted and liked by Milan, who were acting the advice of Kakhaber Kaladze who played at the Rossoneri from 2001-2010 and is now the Mayor of Tbilisi.

Kvaratskhelia is a technical young winger and he plays for Rubin Kazan, meaning he could look to take the next step in his career soon. After the two big goals scored last night, the teams scouting him is very likely to increase.
