Pierre Kalulu now looks like one of the best investments that AC Milan have made for many a year as he continues to put in top performances, a report claims.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report how the 21-year-old can be considered to all intents and purposes a starter at Milan, which is remarkable considering that he arrived in the summer of 2020 without a senior appearance to his name for Lyon, who the Rossoneri gave €480k in compensation to sign.
Today Kalulu is worth at least €20m and he has become a certainty of Pioli’s Milan. Alessio Romagnoli’s stop allowed the Frenchman to show his abilities again, this time in a very difficult stadium like that of Napoli, but he responded by helping Fikayo Tomori in stopping Victor Osimhen.
The Kalulu-Tomori pairing allows Pioli to deploy a very high defensive line for a more aggressive Milan. Kalulu has always shown a strong sense of professionalism and the club are ready to reward him with a new and richer contract.
Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are finalising contacts with his agent to agree an extension until 2026, with a salary that will go from the current €500k net per year to at least €1m plus bonuses.
How come a center back who could netralize Osimhen, Martinez and Dzeko only cost €500K per month?
Should be at least 4 times higher by seeing his performance.
4 times higher if he can bring scudetto + champions league trophy for Milan. But for now 1 million with bonus is a fair numbers for his new salary.
I think it’s yearly and not monthly sir and yes I agree with you that he should be raised to a salary commensurate with his performance. Won’t be long before Man. City come calling and offering exorbitant wages cuz the boy is good enough for the EPL. Victor would have had a field day had it been Alessio pairing Fikayo but I think Pierre is just as fast as Fikayo so the team can play a really high line knowing that both defenders have the pace to recover quickly. Brownie points to the scouting department.
You are not serious, kalulu should allow his contact runs out or demand to be sale, how could he sign a contract of 5yrs for 1m.the stingy Milan can’t win any,and I guess we haven’t seen the last drama if calhanuglo and kessie.
I hope he doesn’t leave because he’s crucial to the team
Kalulu is still a young player without any trophy under his belt. So 1 million /year for his salary is a fair numbers. His salary could be increased later in the future once he bring scudetto and champions league for Milan.
Also, DON’T FORGET that Milan are NOT a rich club like PSG, Munich, City, Liverpool, etc who gave extraordinary salary to their players.
Milan are still struggling with income and tons of debt because they didn’t win even one scudetto or champions league for almost a decade. That’s why they really careful with how they manage their money including players salary.
MOTM for me against Napoli. It will be interesting to see where he carves out his permanent place. CB or RB? Both are tough given the fact we’re committed to signing Botman and homegrown and probable future captain Calabria is starting RB. If I had to choose I would say Calabria is the likeliest to cede his place in a couple of seasons despite the aforementioned roles.
Worth at least 20M? Hold your horses.. Don’t get me wrong, I love him a lot and delighted to see the progress, but 20M is a bit excessive (for now), no?
