Milan have struggled since the start of the year, especially at San Siro, which has inevitably hurt them in the Champions League race. They badly need a win against Lazio on Monday, but it won’t be easy.
Stefano Pioli will be able to rely on a relatively strong team for the game, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to miss out once again. Franck Kessie is a key player that will be there, though, having played almost every game from start to finish.
In an interview with SportWeek, as cited by MilanNews, the Ivorian spoke about many things (read in full here) including the Rossoneri’s struggles. He admitted that Milan will have to improve performance-wise, keeping a good level.
“To return to being one of the greats, Milan lack continuity in results. The great teams are never satisfied, they want to win all the games. This must be our mentality. We know that it’s not possible to win always, but we must try. But we are already a great team,” he stated.
The Champions League race is extremely tight and Milan cannot afford to drop more points, especially in a silly manner like against Sassuolo last time out. One loss and they could be out of the top four.
