GdS: Kessie and Bennacer observing Ramadan – Milan’s plan to help them

By Oliver Fisher -

Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are both observing Ramadan and AC Milan have a plan to help them, according to a report.

Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and is observed in the ninth month of the Muslim lunar year, and those who practice must fast on food and drink from sunrise to sunset which obviously makes things difficult for professional athletics who require a lot of calories for energy.

It will last from from 2 April to 2 May in what will be a busy and decisive month for the Rossoneri, while La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) explains that the club have arranged for Kessie and Bennacer to have closer contact with the club’s nutritionist, who will help them with a diet plan to ensure they are getting the energy and the hydration they need.

After training and matches, relaxation and sleep become absolutely essential for the duo and more flexibility will be granted on match days when the Ivorian and the Algerian can follow the same nutritional table provided for the rest of the team.
