As Ismael Bennacer has been forced to sit out most of the season, Franck Kessie has had to step up in the midfield tandem, experiencing the best moment of his career. There’s no doubt just how important he is for the team.
With his impressive stamina, the Ivorian has played almost every game this season and he has also improved his numbers, in terms of goals and assists. In fact, he has already scored eight goals this term, the best tally in his entire career.
It has helped that Milan have been awarded a whopping 18 penalties in all competitions, seven of which Kessie has converted. He has only missed one and is the undisputed penalty taker, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic still hasn’t given up on that duty.
In addition to the goals, Kessie also has three assists and it remains to be seen if he will keep up the positive numbers. Either way, it’s clear that it would be very hard for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to replace him.
