Sky: Kessie completes medical ahead of Barcelona move – the details of his €28m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Franck Kessie is ready to wear the Barcelona shirt next season as he has found an agreement with them over personal terms and has done his medical, it is claimed.

According to Sky (via SempreMilan.it), the Ivorian has already signed a four-year agreement with the LaLiga club and carried out his medical examinations in recent days in Lugano, Switzerland. He will leave Milan on a free transfer and will commit to a deal with Barca until 2026.

He will sign contract worth €7m net per year which is €2m more per season than what the Rossoneri management were willing to offer him, and the 25-year-old will move to Barcelona at the end of the season, thus ending his stint at Milan after five years.

It was the summer of 2017 when the Rossoneri bought him from Atalanta via a two-year loan formula with the obligation to buy. Kessié has so far made 214 appearances for Milan with 36 goals and 16 assists, but a new adventure beckons.

  1. 2 million per year is a big difference. I can’t fault him for leaving. I know he certainly made it seem like he wanted to stay with certain comments; but things change. Right now, he is part of our squad and we should support him because we need him to feel happier to play better — we need his help to win the Scudetto.

    1. You said it best. Hoped he can leave with a scudetto. I was mad at first but I’ve come to terms. As you said 2 million is a lot of money and it’s hard to blame someone in that situation. Forza Milan!

      1. Yeah I’m with the two of you. It’s been a “done deal” for a while now and I’ve accepted it. Right now we have more important things to think about, like winning our last 8 games.
