GdS: Kessie hoping for perfect Milan farewell before new Barcelona adventure

By Oliver Fisher -

The game between Sassuolo and Milan this evening has plenty at stake, but there are a number of sub-plots to the game as well including the one surrounding Franck Kessie.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning that Kessie will take the field for the 223rd time in the Rossoneri shirt in the game against the Neroverdi and his objective is quite simple: to finish with a flourish.

Barcelona are waiting for him, as the Ivorian reached an agreement with the LaLiga side earlier this year and he will begin a new adventure at the Nou Camp after half a decade as a Milan player.

Despite his contractual situation, head coach Stefano Pioli has never doubted the professionalism nor the quality of Kessiè, who has had a big part to play in the recent wins that have meant Milan just need a point against Sassuolo to get over the line.

The former Atalanta man will take the field from the first minute against Sassuolo, alongside Sandro Tonali, for what he hopes will be a perfect farewell.

  1. As of today he is still Rossoneri, and he will play like it, yes his leaving was a mess but he still was very important for us to be in this position. Could have dogged it to prevent injury but has played tough. Hope he scores today. I do know this for sure he will play the best game of his career at A.C. today ! Forever Milan !
