Franck Kessie has been one of the best players for Milan this season, crucial in both phases of the game. And as fate would have it, he has been a fan of the Rossoneri ever since he was a kid.
The Ivorian is a true leader on the pitch and he plays almost every game from start to finish for Milan. You can understand why Stefano Pioli loves him, as he does so much more than just score and assist.
Having said that, his numbers with regards to goal contribution are very good with ten goals and five assists in the league. As mentioned, it’s strange how destiny works sometimes as Kessie revealed an interesting story from his childhood.
Speaking to the weekly edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, known as SportWeek, the midfielder revealed that he was a Milan fan as a kid. He also revealed his favourite player (indirectly) of that era, as cited by MilanNews.
“Yes, as a child, I cheered for Milan and was crazy about Shevchenko. Milan was also my team on the Playstation. It was easy to cheer for them: in those days they won everything. When I wore the Rossoneri shirt for the first time, I didn’t believe it.
“I thought I should have sweated more for that shirt, because I was also a fan of Milan. That’s what I try to do every game. Playing the Champions League with Milan would be great.”
