Romano: Kessie ‘tempted’ by Barcelona’s contract offer as Milan’s stance is made clear

Barcelona are pushing hard to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie on a free transfer and have put forward a big salary offer, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are offering Kessié around €6.5m net per season as a guaranteed salary on a five-year deal, which would be almost treble what he currently earned with the Rossoneri.

The interest appears to be mutual because the Ivorian is ‘understood to be tempted’ by the idea of swapping Lombardy for Catalonia at the end of the season. Barca boss Xavi is pushing for both Kessie and Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen on frees.

Meanwhile, Romano adds that Milan have already made their thoughts on the Kessie situation clear as technical director Paolo Maldini declared: “We’re not changing our stance.” From this it can be inferred that an offer has been made and they will not raise it.
