Sky: Kessie wants to return to Italy – Milan in contact with entourage

In shocking news this afternoon, Franck Kessie could return to AC Milan three years after the expiration of his contract.

A lot of work is being done in the midfield, and a lot of the same profiles have been put forward. Technical players who can control a game, however, Kessie provides a bit of that and more. He is different from the Luka Modric and Javi Guerra types, and could, perhaps, be an alternate to Granit Xhaka.

Above all, he provides a profile that the Rossoneri have been trying to replace since he left – the Kessie.

The Swiss midfielder has been heavily linked, but talks have broken down due to the price of a deal. Though it is not completely dead, other options are being considered, and today, Kessie is the latest addition to the mix.

Bringing him back

Since 2023, he has been with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, and there are suggestions that he could leave this summer. Perhaps, allowing a reunion with the team where he won the Scudetto, as Sky journalist Manuele Baiocchini claims, via Napoli Network.

“Kessie has been at a Saudi club for a couple of years. He earns €15 million, but he wants Europe and Italy. He and his entourage have spoken to several Italian teams, such as Milan and Napoli, who are interested in a player with those characteristics.

“They also spoke with Roma, and they said they were willing to listen to the discussions. The most complicated part is the player’s salary; we will have to find the right balance.”

  1. No. I am good.

Lied to the fans, lied to the management. You can stay in Saudi. If you want Europe. Go to another team in Europe. Milan doesnt need you.

    1. Get over the business side of things, he never gave up like other players and left AFTER bringing us the Scudetto. And yeah Milan actually does need that exact type of midfielder.

      1. He is a coward. After barca have dropped him only after one year to gain money from his selling he came out saying that barca is the best team in his life and he will be always a barca fan as it is the biggest club in his career

        1. Kessie is not a coward. He stepped up to take responsibility till his last game and was a vital part of the machine.
He won with us , has experience and is in his prime.
If they bring in Ricci, Jashari , Modric and Kessie then that midfield will stamp it’s authority.

          1. Id be happy if I were told wed replace Tijjani with Ricci, Modric and Kessie. Jashari as well. He left once they refused to pay him fair value and his idol called him to play for his team. I couldn’t and haven’t ever blamed him for leaving

  2. Kessie and Ricci would actually be a nice pairing in the double pivot if we play 4-2-3-1 again. However who knows in what kind of form is Kessie now.

  3. If it’s the same Kessie that left, then absolutely bring him back. I’ll take him any day over Xhaka. I hope Saudia hasn’t derailed him.

  4. Modric, Xhaka, Jashari, and Kessie. We are in good game bois. The Four Musketeers. One for all and all for one.

  5. He’d have to cut his salary by 60%, so I don’t think this “news” is real. But if it is, and he does, a midfield of Kessie AND Jashari, Modric, Ricci, RLC and Bondo would be one of the best in the division, if not THE best.

  6. Yooooo, bring back the president! Hopefully he invested his money well while away and he doesn’t need a billion dollars still.

  7. Do we really need Kessie now that we have Fofana .. the team just need one who can play and complement him. He is also a fighter and ball winner

One thing I noticed is he gets tired quickly maybe not yet at his best a fresh season might prove what he can offer

    1. Are you comparing Fofana to Kessie? Kessie is miles better. He was an absolute beast for us and the team has not been the same since he left. He was the engine of that Scudetto winning team and unfortunately many people didn’t realize that until after he left and our midfield turn to shambles.
I would take him back in a heartbeat.

        1. You don’t know that. He’s still only 28. Theo is going to go over there for 1 year, make more money than he would in 5 years here and then come back. It’s easy to say not to do it but if you can go over there for a year or 2 make a boatload of money and then still come back in your prime, I can see some guys doing that.

  8. Yeah he didn’t want to stay with us…
But he was probably the only guy stayed on business till last whistle in Scudetto winning.
He showed when it mattered most in season finale.
If he is willing to accept ‘non-crazy’ salary, bring him back.
He earnt 38 million gross after leaving Milan (without potential sign in bonuses from Varca and Saudi).
I hope his money greediness is over

  9. The question is if he’s still the same kessie from the scudetto season?
And most of Milan’s players reunion never worked out.

  10. Y’all should stop being emotional. We are in the middle of a midfield rebuild; we need good players, and Kessie is one!

    1. Bud, even if we put our personal feelings aside, this is a finished player form wise. There is no revitalizing his career.

    1. In thats case, no better league in Europe to retire than serie A.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic literally came back from a retirement league at 39 and still bossed the Serie A.
Luka Modric is coming to Italy at 40 and he will boss the league.
      Kessie is only 28.

    2. What an incredibly dumb statement. He’s 28 years old and would instantly be our best midfielder. We just signed a 39 year old Modric. Not to mention Zlatan came here from the “retirement league” at 38 and destroyed Serie A.

  11. Leaving Milan was a bad move for Kessie and he knows it. That being said, Milan wasn’t willing pay him what he was worth. If we remember Inter was crazy over him, but he refused to sign with them out of his love for Milan and that’s why he chose to leave Italy altogether. I’m telling you, Juve or Inter or Napoli will get him if Milan can’t pay him. I’ll take Kessie over all others being mentioned in the CDM position.

    1. That’s not true. Milan offered kessie the same contract Barcelona did, Barca offered the agent commission. Milan said we ain’t gonna pay commission to renew contracts of our own players. Which is absolutely right. Kessie left either way do his agent could exploit us.

    1. Who cares? The guy gave everything he had for this club every time he stepped on the pitch, doing the work of 2 or 3 players and making our average defenders look good as we quickly found out when he left.

      1. Yes that’s how football – a TEAM sport – works.

One player is better than three players.

And the lack of respect for the players who actually stayed and kept delivering before being forced out.

You are everything that’s wrong with modern fans. You demand respect but show none.

  12. He chose money over a career and a club that loved.

F^#k him. And f$&k modern football that sees this thing keep happening.

    1. No one takes you seriously because you’re still crying about Calabria and openly rooted against Milan last year. You’re a hypocrite and a clown

      1. You should be crying about Calabria and the rest.

The fact that you don’t give a f*#k about a player who captained your club means you’re wasting your time.

There’a nothing there. Why don’t you cut out the middle man, and go and support some hedge fund.

        1. You rooted against Milan last season, you are not a fan. Calabria was washed up, there was a reason he was never called into Nazionale. I watched every game last season while you said you were going to support Como haha clown

      2. You’re a person that is ecstatic over rumours of a mercenary coming back. The guy that took 3 months in Barca to say it is the best club on the planet. They were going bankrupt. I’m sure he said the same about the Saudi club. 🤣 Chill, Casshie will not reduce his wages by over 60%, mercenaries play football for money, and only that matters.

    2. It’s not modern football, it started with the NASL in the 1970s and yes, he can rot where he is. He abandoned the club.

  13. He got 15m euro nett from saudi . ACM can only offer5- 6m euro nett , i doubt he want to take pay cut more than 60℅. It is not realistic

  14. Kessie.. Tempting..

When he is motivated he is a beast..

The president.. I am not emotional on this ,he will definitely add something to our midfield.

Milan didn’t want to pay him his worth. He went on to win with Barca and Ivory Cost.

I will take him back, if Allegri brought so much out of Mutari, Dejong and KPB, I wonder what he will unearth from Kessie.

  15. First, we don’t know if this information is true or not.
But supposedly it is, is this the same Kessié from 3 years ago ? He barely played with FC Barcelona and since then went to the Saudis, so that might have taken a toll on his abilities.
That aside, unless I missed someone, but I think players who left Milan rarely succeed when they came back (Kakà and Shevchenko come to mind).
