Kessie’s agent shuts down Inter speculation and says renewal offer isn’t €6.5m

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie’s future with AC Milan has been a heavily debated matter lately as the current contract will expire next summer. There is still no renewal agreement in place, resulting in all the media speculation.

Earlier this week, it was even suggested that Kessie’s agent, George Atangana, has offered the Ivorian midfielder to Inter. In other words, a Calhanoglu-esque move that really would upset the Milan management.

However, in an exclusive interview with Calciomercato.com, the agent provided a different update on the situation. He also stated that the reports of a €6.5m offer Milan aren’t true, or at least that’s what he hinted strongly.

“There is all this media confusion regarding the renewal of Kessie with Milan. I don’t have the same approach to this negotiation: there are players due at Inter, Marseille, Napoli, Moenchengladbach, Turin and other clubs, but we are not talking about them with the same energy.

“If it’s because of Kessie’s words at the Olympics? For an important player, you always need a contract worthy of it.

“€6.5m offer? There was an official offer from the club and a request from the agent, but we are talking about figures very far from what you are referring to.”

“If I proposed him to Inter? A footballer of Franck’s calibre doesn’t need to be proposed to anyone. And in any case, I’ve never talked to Inter.

“For too long, the same things have been said incorrectly. I feel sorry for those who read them, believing them to be true,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the parties can reach an agreement but it’s clear that Kessie’s agent wants a hefty pay rise for his client. And as we know, the Rossoneri seem more willing to lose him for free than to surrender to the request.

  1. We don’t need another Mino and Dollaruma.

This agent and his average player Kessie can leave tomorrow.

I actually prefer Krunic who loves Milan and does not bother Milan with drama or issues

  2. Dear mr agent, he is no longer untouchable player in Milan. other than kessie, we have 4 midfields now, and 2 more extra when loans comes back

if milan entertain with 6-7m demand, it must be beause want to increase resell value and still sell him later

    either way, bye2 kessie

  3. management should be stricter on paid players like kebaboglu, dollarhuman and prank kessie in contract extension…give him a contract extension 1 year ago he was on the bench for one season…later when his contract runs out his performances will decline and all clubs will not want to accept it
