Key dates for Milan Futuro this summer as ‘single group’ with first team is expected

By Isak Möller -

Milan Futuro will be competing in the Serie C from the 2024-25 season and under the guidance of Daniele Bonera, youngsters will get consistent playing time. This summer, the team will also work closely with the first team, a report claims.

The name Milan Futuro was announced by the club yesterday as the slot in Serie C was officially confirmed. It was also confirmed today that the team will be in Group B of Serie C, meaning they will be up against Ignazio Abate and his Ternana among others.

As reported by ANSA (via MilanNews), the players will meet up on July 8 at Milanello and will work closely with the first team during the pre-season. They will effectively be working as a ‘single group’ until the start of the season, which certainly makes sense.

Milan Futuro’s first games are scheduled for August 12 and 18, when the first and second preliminary rounds of the Serie C cup will take place. The actual league will start on August 25, so there is enough time for Bonera to get to know his players.

Given the nature of the project, it’s expected that Milan Futuro will have a very similar playing style to the first team, which should help some switch between the two.

    1. Based on the comments on this site, there is plenty of trust in him. I’m not one of those but it really doesn’t matter. As long as the kids get to play “grown-up games”.
