Kicker: Milan do not hold interest in Turkish defender despite reports

Despite reports claiming otherwise, AC Milan are not currently pursuing a move for Hoffenheim defender Ozan Kabak.

According to German magazine Kicker (via Pianeta Milan), the reports in recent days from La Repubblica were false in their claims that Kabak is a target for Milan to bolster the defensive depth.

Given Simon Kjaer has been struggling with injuries over the past two seasons, there is a desire at Milan to have another central defender who can be counted on throughout the season.

One of the reasons why a deal for Kabak may not work is that he would likely demand more minutes in the first-team than he can get at Milan with Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu in the squad.

The primary target linked with Milan for the central defence is Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, who was on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season. That is a more ambitious deal from a financial perspective.
