Kjaer: “For his ability to combine technique and physicality, Ibrahimovic is unique”

By Isak Möller -

Following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Simon Kjaer in January, Milan have made great progress on the pitch. The Rossoneri are currently in first place with 17 points out of a possible 21, impressing a lot.

Without a doubt, Ibrahimovic has been a contributing factor to this both on and off the pitch. He always demands more from his teammates and this has created a whole new mentality at the club, which had been missing for years.

In addition to the Swede, Kjaer has helped reinforce the back-four and has added some much-needed experience as well as wisdom to the team. In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), the Dane praised his Scandinavian compatriot.

“For his ability to combine technique and physicality, Zlatan is unique in the world, I have never seen dominant strikers like him. Our relationship is excellent, as with the others,” he began.

On the pitch, we see Kjaer sending long balls towards Ibrahimovic, who more often than not manages to bring them down. The 31-year-old said that this is something he has always liked, now made a lot easier thanks to the striker.

“I have liked long passing since I was a kid. Then of course, if you have Ibra up front you have a bigger chance of succeeding. If you always play short you become predictable, with verticality you create space.

“Being a defender I know it well, and when I have the ball I try to read situations and serve Ibra,” he concluded.
